Job Overview:
  • We are seeking an outgoing and dedicated Innkeeper/Club Manager to oversee daily operations, restaurant, hospitality, and event coordination at the Wagon Box Club.
  • This role is perfect for a committed Christian with a passion for the outdoors, people, and literature/philosophy, who is eager to build a wholesome, community-driven experience in a stunning rural setting.
  • You’ll manage the facilities (restaurant, library, lodge, and cabins), oversee a range of events—from intimate retreats to larger gatherings—and elevate the Wagon Box Club’s presence through strategic outreach on various platforms.
  • Housing can be provided, making this an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to live and thrive in beautiful Story, Wyoming.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Wagon Box Club, including the restaurant, library, lodge, cabins, and surrounding 20-acre property.
  • Work with the events manager to execute a variety of events, such as writer’s retreats, cultural symposia, and community gatherings, ensuring seamless coordination and memorable guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with restaurant staff to manage dining operations and coordinate catering or special requests for events and guests.
  • Work with the lodging and maintenance team to ensure cabins, lodge rooms, property, and other accommodations are guest-ready and well-maintained.
  • Build the Wagon Box Club’s reputation locally and nationally by promoting the project through posts on social platforms, community engagement, and networking.
  • Maintain an organized schedule for events, facility use, and programming, communicating updates to the executive team and staff.
  • Occasionally assist with on-site tasks, such as event setup or facility oversight, as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience in hospitality, event coordination, facility management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with guests, staff, and the broader community.
  • Comfortable using social platforms to promote the Wagon Box Club and engage with a growing audience.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to embrace the Story, Sheridan, or Buffalo area’s rural lifestyle and community dynamics.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small, dedicated team.
  • Technological proficiency required for managing schedules, correspondence, and promotional efforts.
  • Uphold traditional values and committed to fostering a welcoming and meaningful environment.
Location & Work Arrangement
  • Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to Story, Wyoming, or the Sheridan/Buffalo area.
  • Housing can be provided on-site, offering a unique chance to immerse yourself in this ambitious cultural project.
  • This role requires regular on-site presence, with some flexibility for off-site planning and promotion tasks.
Compensation
  • $60,000-$75,000 depending on experience. Lodging negotiable.
